Eleni CR Hackwell
Eleni Hackwell is a final year PhD student working in Professor Dave Grattan’s lab in the Centre for Neuroendocrinology, at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand. Her research looks at the role of prolactin in lactational infertility, using state of the art methods to monitor in vivo activity of neurons involved in control of reproduction. She has been awarded the NZSE MediRay Best Student Presentation Prize and the Otago Medical Research Foundation Renshaw Prize in 2019. She co-authored a review in Neuropharmacology titled “The role of prolactin in co-ordinating fertility and metabolic adaptations during reproduction” in 2020 and an Endocrinology paper “Reformulation of PULSAR for Analysis of Pulsatile LH Secretion and a Revised Model of Estrogen-Negative Feedback in Mice” in 2021. She is currently preparing 2 further papers from her PhD for publication.
