Zaramasina L Clark
Dr Zaramasina Clark completed her PhD at Te Herenga Waka-Victoria University of Wellington (THW-VUW) in 2018. This project investigated the intrafollicular factors influencing oocyte developmental competency using in vitro and in vivo sheep models. Her subsequent postdoctoral research in Dr James Ireland’s lab in the Reproductive and Developmental Sciences Program at Michigan State University, used the small ovarian reserve heifer model to evaluate the impacts of excessive FSH during ovarian stimulation on ovarian follicle function. In 2020, Dr Clark was awarded a HRC Pacific Health Research Postdoctoral Fellowship to work in A/Prof Janet Pitman’s lab at THW-VUW on a project developing a non-invasive test for detecting aneuploidy in in vitro produced embryos. As a recently appointed Lecturer in the School of Biological Sciences at THW-VUW, her newly established research program aims to understand the perceived and systemic barriers to Pacific peoples’ access to assisted reproductive technologies (ART) in Āotearoa, NZ.
