Young Joo Park
I was graduated and trained from Seoul National University (SNU), and currently Professor of Department of Internal Medicine at SNU College of Medicine, and Chief of Thyroid Center at SNU Hospital. I am currently the co-Editor-in-Chief of Endocrinology and Metabolism (ISSN: 2093-596X, IF 4.01) of the Korean Endocrine Society, an active member of the National Academy of Medicine of Korea, and the director of Korean Thyroid Association’s Guideline Committee.
My recent and current research focuses on understanding the biology of thyroid disease using several bioinformatics tools including next-generation sequencing, proteomics, and metabolomics and studying their risk factors by conducting genome-wide association study and analyzing environmental chemicals. Additionally, my group has been conducted a number of prospective population- or cohort-based studies. Specially, to assess the natural history of papillary thyroid microcarcinoma, we have been conducted a prospective multicenter cohort, MAeSTro, and have begun publishing results, which are presented in this session.
