Juliet Berkeley
Juliet is an endocrinologist and general physician based in Christchurch.
After training in Dunedin, London and Christchurch, Juliet began her career working for the Edgar national diabetes research group before moving to focus on clinical practice and service development at Canterbury DHB (now Te Whatu Ora , Waitaha).
The last decade has been one of many challenges in Christchurch, challenge brings opportunity for positive change. Juliet has been involved in the redevelopment of the outpatient facilities in her previous role as Clinical Director and diabetes and endocrinology services; the development of an integrated campus based diabetes service for the University of Canterbury; joined the eating disorders service; and sponsored and supervised our first diabetes nurse prescribers and nurse practitioner.
Juliet’s current roles include diabetes physician, with a focus on adolescent and young adult diabetes, general medicine physician and physician for the South Island Eating Disorders Service. Juliet is also the current chairman of the Endocrinology ATC (RACP) (NZ) and South Island diabetes leadership group (Te Whatu Ora).
