Cameron Young

Mr Cam Young (he/they) is a postgraduate Honours student at the University of Otago, based in the Centre for Neuroendocrinology. He is investigating the mechanism of the thrifty Polynesian-specific R458Q CREBRF gene variant and its influence on lactogenic hormones during pregnancy. Cam is also involved in researching Pacific youth knowledges of sexuality and reproduction, community approaches to sexual violence prevention, and the identification and repatriation of human remains from unknown provenance. Cam is passionate about deconstructing the dichotomous nature of mainstream science and integrating Pacific epistemologies for enriched research.
