Tom Wilkinson
Tom is an Endocrinology Advanced Trainee based in Ōtautahi/Christchurch. Having completed 2½ years of registrar training at the Christchurch Hospital Department of Endocrinology, he is currently a full-time PhD candidate at the University of Otago (Christchurch) under supervisor Dr Martin de Bock, investigating fully-automated closed loop systems in diabetes. Tom holds a number of leadership positions, including co-chair of the RACP Aotearoa/NZ Trainees' Committee and deputy chair of the RACP College Trainees' Committee. Outside of clinical medicine, Tom plays trumpet in multiple community orchestras and helps organise the New Zealand Doctors' Orchestra. He also enjoys taking advantage of the proximity of Christchurch to outstanding natural landscapes, through photography, tramping, and skiing.
