Dana Spajic
Dana Spajic is a final-year medical student at The University of Adelaide, Australia. She is currently undertaking a Bachelor of Medical Sciences honours degree under the supervision of paediatric endocrinologists A/Prof Alexia Pena (The Women's and Children's Hospital, SA) and Dr Jacqueline Curran (The Perth Children's Hospital, WA). Her current research project, which is focused on adolescents with type 2 diabetes, aims to longitudinally evaluate diabetes distress and emotional wellbeing and to qualitatively examine patient unmet needs and barriers to healthcare system engagement. She is passionate about the prevention of Type 2 Diabetes in at-risk children, and likes to run health education activities at remote schools in her spare time.
